Choosing the right tool for each job is an essential part of making certain your finished products look their best. That's why this kit sets you up with three distinct pneumatic fastening tools. Each of these well-balanced tools is designed to sit neatly in your hand, letting you maintain control and precision. And each offers a wide range of simple, intuitive features, from no-mar tips that protect your work surface to tool-free adjustable exhaust systems that direct air away from your face to keep you comfortable while you work. Three Dependable Tools for Handling Tough Jobs The included 16-Gauge Straight Finish Nailer offers a convenient, adjustable depth guide and a quick-release nose for fast jam clearing. It is designed for handling nails 1 to 2-1/2 inches long, making it a great pick for moldings and door and window casing applications. The nailer provides 300 in./lbs. of driving power, a magazine capacity of 100 nails, and weighs in at four pounds. Ideal for everything from staircases to cabinetry applications, the included 18-Gauge Brad Nailer makes use of the adjustable depth guide to set nails to desired depths quickly and conveniently. Behind its fast, reliable performance is the ability to deliver 145 in./lbs. of driving power. This nailer handles 18-gauge brads from 5/8 to 2 inches and weighs just 2.7 pounds. Also included in the kit is the 18-Gauge Narrow Crown Finish Stapler, because whether you're working with cabinetry, floor underlayment, or upholstering furniture, a stapler is the right tool for the job. This stapler utilizes 135 in./lbs. of drive power to secure 7/32-inch narrow crown staples, features a bottom-load magazine for fast loading and easy jam clearing, and weighs 2.6 pounds. Durable Six-Gallon Oil-Free Compressor Built to keep your tools running smoothly and reliably, the 2.0 HP (Peak) Compressor delivers 2.8 CFM at 90 PSI with a maximum operating pressure of 150 PSI for improved tool performance. This compressor's oil-free pump design requires less maintenance than traditional models, and its large, six-gallon reserve tank includes a ball-type drain valve for easy drainage at the end of each day. It also employs an impact-resistant composite shroud to protect important gauges from job-site damage. Heavy-Duty Motor Operates Smoothly and Quietly The compressor's 2.0 HP (Peak), 1.5 HP running motor features easy startup and an expert design that draws 12 Amps without tripping your circuit breakers, so work can be done hassle-free. And the compressor's operation acoustics run at a quiet 72 dBA, making it ideal for use in smaller or more populated areas. The compressor is backed by a 1 year warranty. Unlike kits that leave you guessing what accessories you need to get started, this tool and compressor combo comes with a heavy-duty airline that includes the necessary fittings and a canvas case to help you keep everything organized. Note to customers: When operating the compressor be sure the draincock is closed and the quick disconnect is not stuck. Either issue will prevent the compressor from working properly. Maybe I should pick it up at the warehouse... February 3, 2010 Peter Bullock (Columbus, OH) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Add me to the list of people questioning the packaging procedures.
It arrived on my door stop and the box looked to be in good condition. there was a tear in the corrugated opening of the box were you would pick it up, but no obvious signs of distress. I had read about shipping damage, so I immediately opened and inspected the goods. the items were just placed in the box, loose. The tank Looked good. No scratches or dents as I pulled it out. One of the small screws on the handle had been torqued down too hard and had cracked the plastic housing on the handle. Maybe this is why it is reconditioned? The bag was next to the tank and it had the guns in it. they appear to be in excellent shape. and there were staples in the bag for each gun. Paper work for the tank and the guns were also included. No oil was included. Not a big deal since there were no instructions on what to do with it!
With everything out of the box, I checked the box once more for leftovers. that's when I saw the plastic handle and the 5" bolt. I traced the bolt to the plastic housing. Again, it looks to be stripped out when it was put together. The handle was what was left of the drain cock on the bottom of the tank. It had snapped off in shipping. Dang it! What a hassle for such stupid stuff. I can open it with pliers. maybe I can purchase a replacement handle. I want to use this thing, not waste a few weeks returning it and hoping for better luck.
The tank and the guns work well. I tested each to make sure before I decide what to do about the damage. The hose is pretty cheap, but it works. I ordered the Good Year replacement hose with the tank, but it hasn't arrived yet. For an additional [...], it's a deal. I got a solid 150 psi in the tank when I turned it on and the guns work great. Despite my shipping issues, I still feel this is a great deal.
About the shipping time, it was excellent. I ordered Sunday evening and was notified that it was shipped Tuesday evening and it was on my doorstep Wednesday morning. This was with the free shipping! Excellent service, though they did not ship the hose yet. I'm happy they split shipped to to get it here faster.
Just be aware that there is a chance for shipping damage. The items are just placed loose in a box. I know and appreciate that Amazon wants to reduce excess packaging, but a piece of styrofoam on the bottom of the box would have saved a lot more natural resources when you take into consideration of freight costs on the return and a new shipment. Green is great, but common sense is king!
You get what you pay for and more! December 23, 2009 Cultured Outdoorsman (Indiana) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Product came packaged poorly as everyone stated.... everything on mine works awesome, fired up right out of the box. And for less than $200, to get a compressor, brad nailer, finish nailer, narrow crown finish stapler, air line, and 1000 of each fastener. Nobody can match this deal.
If you are too cheap to buy the more expensive or new units/combos, then don't complain about this awesome deal. I feel like I robbed Bostitch by getting all this at less than $200!!!
Very Pleased December 21, 2009 Mark (Connecticut, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Have had this package for about two weeks. So far, I am very pleased with the purchase. Unlike other reviewers, I can't tell at all that this unit was reconditioned. While the packaging wasn't great, the item arrived in perfect condition. The guns appear brand new as does the tank. Only missing item was the lubricant for the guns (but that is a very small complaint). Shipping was also SUPER fast.
Factory Reconditioned Bostitch U/CPACK 3 Tool & Compressor December 23, 2009 G. Hamilton (Tacoma, WA.) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had been looking for the best value I could find regarding an air compressor through several sites including the "Big Box" stores, Amazon, Craigslist and other sources. After looking for quite a while I was able to recognize what I considered to be good values and questionable values. I came across the Bostitch 3 piece tool set and compressor on Amazon. I had reservations regarding ordering a factory reconditioned item but decided to go with it anyway. It ended up being $75.00 to $100.00 less then any thing else I could find. Plus when I ordered it I was able to take advantage of the "Free Shipping" offer. It arrived in just a couple days and was as advertized and consistent with the reviews I read prior to ordering.
It seems to be working just fine though I did need to tighten one of the air connections due to hearing a small leak. I tried all three guns and all seemed to work fine also. Admittedly I haven't used them for any extended period of time but all appears to be in good condition and good working order. Overall I'm happy with the product, the price/value and the quick shipment.
Awesome January 1, 2010 Robert D. Schmidt (San Diego) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got got this because I wanted a compressor and tools, but I did not want to invest too much money. It seemed like a really good deal. Many of the reviewers mentioned that the components were in bad shape, but mine were in perfect shape. In fact, it seems brand new. I have tested the tools and they work great. I am very much looking forward to using this set.
