View larger. | Patented Two-in-One Magazine and Driver System This dual-purpose tool has a patented two-in-one magazine and driver system that accommodates both cleats and staples. Designed for 15.5- and 16-gauge staples from 1 to 2 inches, and "L" cleats from 1-1/2 to 2 inches, the magazine has a 100 staple/cleat capacity. Loading the fastener is quick and easy--simply pull the magazine back, drop in the fasteners, and release the drawer--it takes less than 10 seconds.Precise Air-Powered Operation The Ramsond RMM4 operates with the power of compressed air (60 - 120 PSI) and is equipped with a standard 1/4-inch NPT air inlet for easy compatibility. To use, simply attach your air compressor's hose to the RMM4's air inlet, then rest the nose of the RMM4 squarely against your work surface to fire. The direction and angle of the staple/cleat will be automatically aligned for precision driving. And with only a slight strike of the mallet upon the actuator, the RMM4 will shoot a cleat nail or staple through your flooring at the proper angle and depth. Patented Air-Booster Chambers Most conventional flooring nailers/staplers store compressed air within the body of the tool. Upon mallet strike, the air reserved in the body of the tool is released, driving the blade and shooting the fastener. The RMM4 takes this design one step further. In addition to storing compressed air inside its body, the RMM4 continuously stores compressed air in two patented air acceleration/booster chambers located in the handle. By storing extra compressed air, these sealed chambers ensure that the fasteners shoot with sufficient force for perfect penetration in the flooring surface. The booster chambers also accommodate quicker retraction of the actuator and blade when compared with conventional units. Non-Marring Base System Featuring an adjustable non-marring base system, the RMM4 provides protection against scratches and allows you to drive fasteners fast and close to the wall. The base system is equipped with two composite disks in the front, a middle guide, and a rear nylon-derivative plate. The combination of these three mechanisms ensures that the surface of your hardwood flooring is not marred or damaged during installation. It also provides for tool balance and optimal positioning against the work surface for fast, accurate installation. Works with Most Thicknesses of Hardwood Flooring The RMM4 series is suitable for virtually all thickness of hardwood flooring (1/2 inch, 5/8 inch, 3/4 inch, and 25/32 inch). It comes with two nylon composite base plates--simply install the appropriate base plate for your application. Durable and Comfortable With over 30,000 units sold in North America, the RMM4 is sure to deliver on its promises. Designed for long-term use, the Ramsond RMM4 is an industrial-strength power tool that's comfortable to use. Its body is constructed of a durable, lightweight die-cast alloy, and its driver blade is constructed of heat-treated hardened steel for long-lasting resilience. For user comfort, the RMM4 has a long-reach handle with a padded cushioned grip that offers increased balance and control. The RMM4 Two-in-One Hardwood Flooring Stapler and Cleat Nailer is manufactured under strict ISO guidelines for quality control and safety, and it is backed by a one-year warranty. RAMSOND RMM4 - SOLID AS ROCK - GREAT TOOL August 21, 2009 Terrance Yule (Memphis USA) 26 out of 28 found this review helpful
Purchased a Ramsond RMM4. As a professional installer I have used Bostitch for years. However, based on the other reviews for the Ramsond RMM4, I decided to purchase one and give it a try. After over 3 months of use, and thousands of square feet of installation, i must admit, this tool is the most solid tool that I have ever used. Recently we pourchased another four of these Ramsond RMM4's for our other installation crew. Now this is the only tool that we are using. Thanks again for providing such a fantastic product at such a fantastic price.
Great tool that does it's job without much babysitting. October 14, 2009 E. Weber (Hawaii) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
Was skeptical, as I usually am, but this tool lives up to its name.
Have installed alot of 3/4" 2-1/4" plank oak flooring with it so far, have had 1 misfire. Instructions say to not hit it too hard, but I found that it takes a good solid whack to get it to fire completely. Once you do that, it's a breeze. Always seats where it's supposed to, and fires the nails to the right depth. Too light a whack will not sink the nails.
It's really solidly built and balanced really nicely.
One drawback, I wish I could check magazine level without opening it up, but it's not too bad. It makes a hollower sound when you're dry firing.
Nice product, nice price February 16, 2009 J. L. Maddock (Wolfeboro, NH United States) 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
I'm a homeowner who is putting in a 3/4" hardwood floor. I found the recommended brand name floor nailers to be way too expensive ($400+). I bought this nailer on Ebay for $150, including shipping. It seemed to have an air leak right out of the box, but I had merely hadn't added any oil yet. A few drops and it has worked great ever since.
I'm about 120 S.F. into a 750 S.F. project and I couldn't be more pleased.
It hasn't screwed up once, although I have. Too light a hit & the staple didn't go all the way in.
It comes with replacement o-rings and tools. Putting in a solid hardwood floor without a pneumatic nailer would be way too much work. This gun makes it much easier, and the price is right.
I don't have a clue as to whether it would hold up to commercial application. As long as spare parts are available, I suppose it would be great.
works like a charm March 20, 2009 M. Jenkins (Savannah, Ga) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I debated over buying a more well kinown brand of floor nailer but am so glad that I didn't. This nailer works perfectly. I have never before used a floor nailer but have now installed 300 ft of 3/4 inch prefinished flooring so far with this nailer without a missed strike or jam.
Impressive For The Price September 26, 2009 Big Daddy Joe 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Ok the bottome line is you get what you pay for right? Right! This Ramsond RMM4 nailer is not expensive by no means but it does what it claims it could do. I purchased a Porta-Nailer 421P for over twice the money and used it for half of my 3/4"' hardwood flooring project. It was nice and pretty and had some decent features however the Porta-Nailer also provided me with 32 nail jams while using approximately 1800 nails. I was really frustrated and sent it back before I tossed it into a wall. The Ramsond finished the job for me in hero like fashion with no jams in darn near the same amount of nails used (1800). The Ramsond could use some design improvements to allow the user to nail closer to a wall and I'd like to see a safety lever on the handle. Other than that it was money well spent and I'd recommend this tool to anyone. Oh, it comes with a decent case too.
