| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description When you require exact measuring, you reach for a caliper. But an accurate measurement is meaningless if you can't read it accurately. This caliper takes an essential tool into the 21st century with an extra-large LCD digital readout for exact internal and outside measurements accurate to .001". Instantly converts from SAE or Metric, the display can be zeroed at any point on the slide. Machine-grooved thumb-roll mechanism and position lock for sure adjustment. Hardened stainless steel shaft with depth-measurement probe, precision ground jaws. On-off switch with auto-off, two long-life batteries included (one extra).

Engineer September 18, 2008 Gary Kahn (Las Vegas, Nevada) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This product was well built and worked as advertised. I have no way to check its accuracy, however. For my applications I am not concerned with super accuracy. The inch and mm selection is useful for me. The unit came with a dead battery in the caliper but there was a spare battery in the case.
Quality Digital Caliper March 4, 2009 S. P. Korn (Cortlandt Manor, NY USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a Quality Digital Caliper at reasonable cost. Includes case to protect the caliper.
Battery was dead upon receipt...more an annoyance than a defect.
Digital display is large enough to read easily.
Case is padded and durable
Has a precision feel
Think it is made in China, without any loss of quality as best I can tell.
Excellent Product for the Price March 24, 2009 B. Gebrosky (Pittsburgh, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These calipers are the perfect addition to any CAD designer/engineer's toolbox. At my old job I used many different brands of calipers that all cost $100+. These calipers are not quite as nice as those top models, but at 1/5 to 1/10 of the price they are more than worth it. The only annoyance is the slow refresh rate of the display screen which makes "rocking" them back and forth to find the right dimensions a little difficult, but with practice they can be just as good as any other brand. I would, and have, recommended these to others!
Way better than expected in this price class. August 31, 2009 David Hostetler (League City, Texas U.S.A.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For starters, I feel a little leery about giving this 5 stars as I think some might expect that to mean that I KNOW for a fact that it is super acccurate or something silly like that. I don't. What I do now is that I have checked it against known constants, (Starrett machinists micrometer) and in casual testing, it matches favorably at least in SAE measurements.
This was purchased for a hobby woodworking shop, where I KNOW my material and end product will change in dimension with given seasonal changes. So down to the .000X accuracy is a foolish thing to even consider. It is WAY more accurate than I will ever need. If it gets me within 1/32" I am more than happy...
The case is well made, the instrument itself shows no noticeable deviations. Zeroing the caliper is simple, and movement is smooth and appears accurate.
Please take this review for the its intended purpose... If you are a hobby woodworker, this caliper is WAY more accurate than you will ever need. If however you are doing machine work this might have enough build in inaccuracy to make a difference. But then again if I were using this to measure out cylinder bores, I should have my wrenches taken away as this is the WRONG TOOL FOR THE JOB!

I don't use the caliper very often but I think this is one of my best tool investments. I like the readout feature and it is very accurate.
