Very Sturdy. High quality February 21, 2008 Adam Flath (St. Louis, MO) 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
PROS:
-Heavy (So it wont tip over)
-Magnifying Glass
-Grippy base
-Cheap
Cons
- Adjustment isnt easy as pie.
When I first ordered this, I was wondering how on earth it would stand up without falling down. Surprisingly the stand is very heavy for how small it is. You can arrange this little guy in every any any direction you want. If you plan on doing any hobby work like soldering or model building, this investment will pay for itself as soon as you use it once.
Handy tool July 31, 2008 The Old Man (Arizona) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
As noted by some other reviewers, one wonders how it can hold anything, but it is heavier than you would think and does the job just fine. The price is right too. After looking in hardware stores at the model without the magnifying glass at a much higher price, I am glad I found it here on Amazon! I can highly recommend it!
Works Fine November 7, 2009 J. Near (Somerville, MA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As mentioned elsewhere, magnifier is not especially useful; the alligator clips representing the "hands" themselves are also rather difficult to rotate. The other joints work well, and the base is heavy and steady. Good enough.

X-tra hands does a fine job in holding wires and parts during my hobby soldering jobs. Would recommend it to my friends. And the price is right.
Tiny detail work February 3, 2010 Richard Kenyada (Atlanta, Georgia) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
When I was a kid, my dear elderly Aunt Sylvia would come to me occasionally with a request. She'd ask me to thread a needle for her. She said that she was getting too old to see the tiny eye of the needle and maneuver the slender thread through the eye. Piece of cake; I did the task without a second thought. It is for such small detail work that the Xacto X-tra Hands with Magnifier is well suited. I purchased it to help me navigate my way around a circuit board in need of repair. But recently I used it to help me thread a needle. Got to believe that somewhere in Heaven, my Aunt Sylvia is smiling down on me with a wink.
